(The sequence of Spider-Man doing standup was a highlight.) I also really liked that he brought back the character of Peter Parker's maybe-sister from the Family Business OGN. And I like Pete's new potential love interest - a standup comic from Toronto, who wants to date Spider-Man, not Peter Parker? That's fun. I also appreciate how he used the familiar supporting cast (MJ, Jonah, Betty Brant, the Human Torch). I appreciate his use of classic Spidey baddies like the Vulture, the Tinkerer, Kingpin and Trapster (no doubt thanks to their appearances in Spider-Man: Homecoming). It's refreshingly back to basics after all the weirdness in Spider-Man continuity lately - and Zdarsky writes a very funny Peter Parker/Spider-Man. But I wanted to see what hometown hero Chip Zdarsky was doing with the character, so I picked this book up. I liked my 616 Pete 30something, happily married, and teaching high school. I resented the seeming regression of the character that followed to a down-on-his-luck single 20something. I haven't read an in-continuity Spider-Man comic since One More Day.
